Contractor Sentenced to 10 Years for Fraud, Wage Theft

A contractor was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he was convicted of defrauding his workers’ compensation carrier and stealing more than a half million dollars in wages from employees on a student housing construction project at the University of California, Davis. The Yolo County District Attorney’s Office announced Earl Thompson, 56, pleaded no contest to all charges and was sentenced Wednesday.
